3-in-1 newsroom

RE/MAX, a global leader in real estate, engaged us to strategize, design, and develop a unified digital newsroom. This new platform consolidates and replaces three existing communication channels: a digital magazine tailored for agent and broker communication, a blog, and a press-centric newsroom platform.

The new RE/MAX newsroom had to meet a diverse range of needs. Beyond effortlessly serving three distinct audience groups, it required a significant overhaul to modernize their visual identity and design strategy. The site also needed to incorporate media cart functionality and innovative features to differentiate it from competitors’ newsrooms.

Extensive dialogue with the Communications team and rigorous user testing were pivotal in developing a navigation strategy to effectively categorize content from the three previous platforms. Multiple iterations of wireframed navigation structures were presented and refined until a final version was achieved that satisfied all stakeholders.

To achieve a modern and distinctive aesthetic, we drew inspiration from contemporary linear art, integrating dynamic line elements, overlapping layers, generous white space, and a departure from rigid grid layouts. Micro animations and parallax effects were strategically implemented throughout the site to enhance its visual appeal and meet the client's desire for innovative features.

The media cart was a crucial feature for the new newsroom. We ensured multiple access points and intuitive navigation, including a sticky media cart toolbar on article pages and links below main content. Clear instructions were provided for using the media cart, especially for first-time users, ensuring ease of navigation and utilization of key features.
